Book Louis Vuitton Manufactures d’Assouline
Description
Louis Vuitton nourishes the idea that a workshop can be a place of fulfillment and individuality. A place where know-how is learned, respected and transmitted – and innovation is nourished – by artisans who challenge the image of a traditional workshop. In pursuit of regional expertise and artisanal excellence, Louis Vuitton workshops span across France and beyond, from Geneva (Switzerland), to Fiesso d’Artico (Italy) and even in Texas (United States). Sites of historical interest or exceptional natural beauty often have a Louis Vuitton workshop nearby: in Normandy, the marine strength of Mont-Saint-Michel is visible from Ducey’s workshop, and in Beaulieu-sur-Layon, the light-flooded installation promises low impact on the environment.
Composed of photographs commissioned exclusively for this book, the volume presents the extraordinary locations and buildings of the Louis Vuitton workshops, as well as the equally extraordinary artisans who express their talent through Louis Vuitton creations (trunks, bags, perfumes, watches, shoes, fine jewelry and ready-to-wear). to wear), while transporting the techniques and know-how of the founder into the 21st century. It is to these workshops and the inspiring people who work there that this book is dedicated.
